  2. Draw it. Engraved, Line icon or Bold mascot, about 10 seconds each. The drawing has no lettering in it.
  3. Set your name around it. Pick the lettering and a layout: horizontal, stacked, seal, arch, oval, badge or script sweep. Try the palettes for free.
  4. Get the kit and put it on a sign. The files arrive by email as soon as you pay. Upload them on any Brand 9 product page, and $35 comes off.

FAQ

Portrait logo questions, answered

Can I turn my pet photo into a logo?
Yes. Upload one clear photo of your dog, cat or other pet at brand9signs.com/shop/portrait-logo-maker/ and it is drawn three ways: Engraved, Line icon or Bold mascot, with your name set in real type around it as a seal, an arch, an oval, a badge or a script sweep. Your first 4 drawings are free, shown as watermarked previews. The $79 Heirloom Portrait Kit, one time, has each look traced to vector as SVG and PDF, plus transparent PNG from 500 to 4000 pixels and JPG, every name layout, and a color sheet with hex and CMYK; $35 of it comes back on a Brand 9 sign order of $99 or more within 90 days, such as a banner or car magnets with your pet on them. Your photo is used only to draw the portrait and is deleted from our server after 30 days unless it is part of a paid kit.
What can I turn into a logo?
A person, a pet, a car, truck or motorcycle, or something else with a clear shape, such as a boat or a storefront. Upload one clear photo and choose Engraved, Line icon or Bold mascot.
How much does a portrait logo cost?
Your first 4 drawings are free, shown as watermarked previews. The Heirloom Portrait Kit is $79, one time, and $35 of it comes back as a credit on a Brand 9 sign order of $99 or more within 90 days.
What comes in the kit?
Each look you drew, traced to vector: SVG and PDF, transparent PNG from 500 to 4000 pixels and JPG. Every name layout too (horizontal, stacked, seal, arch, oval, badge and script sweep, plus the name on its own) as SVG, PDF and PNG, and a color sheet with hex and CMYK.
Is the name spelled right?
Yes. The name and the wrap-around words are never drawn by AI. They are set in real type from Google Fonts, exactly as you type them, and stay sharp at any size.
What photo works best?
One subject, in focus, in good light, facing the camera or at a three-quarter angle, with nothing covering the face. A phone photo is fine. For a car or truck, a three-quarter front view works best.
What happens to my photo?
It is sent to the AI drawing model only to draw your portrait, and it is never shown on the site. It is deleted from our server after 30 days, unless it is part of a paid kit. Location data in the photo is removed before upload.
Can I use a photo of someone else?
Only with their permission, or a parent or guardian's for a child. We don't draw famous people, cartoon characters or brand mascots.
Can I change the colors after it is drawn?
Yes, as often as you like. Engraved and Line icon portraits take any palette or your own ink and ground. Bold mascot colors move with the palette, and skin and fur keep their natural colors.
Who owns the logo?
Once paid for, the files are yours to use on your signs, packaging, shirts and online. AI-drawn art may not be protectable by copyright on its own, and this is not a trademark search, so talk to a trademark attorney before you register a mark.
