Design a double-sided sidewalk sign with full-color printed faces: aluminum composite (ACM) printed edge to edge in matte or gloss on a brushed-aluminum frame, or 1/8 in PVC faces on the classic black plastic frame. A custom sidewalk sign with printed faces, and nothing is painted
Each face is aluminum composite (ACM) on a 1-inch square brushed-aluminum tube frame, with a self-locking top hinge that doubles as the carry handle and stainless lock stays on the sides that hold the A at the right opening.
Full-color print is the least-cost way to make it yours. We print your artwork straight onto the face, edge to edge — photos, gradients, any color — and finish it matte or gloss. No coat-out step.
Want a solid backing color or a specialty surface instead? We first coat the face out in an exterior-rated film — a solid color, or chrome, brushed metal, carbon, wood or stone looks — then apply your graphics in die-cut vinyl.

Prefer the classic plastic A-frame? Choose the plastic frame: a heavy-duty black plastic stand with a full-color printed 24×36 in sign face of 1/8 in PVC mounted on each side, $225 double-sided or $190 single-sided. We print rigid PVC faces rather than an adhesive print stuck onto the plastic, which tends to peel off. It ships in the frame’s own carton. How much does a custom A-frame sign cost?
Brand 9 Signs aluminum A-frames start at $189 for an 18×24 in sign and run to $429 for a 24×48 in sign, double-sided. The plastic-frame A-frame with printed 24×36 in, 1/8 in PVC faces is $225 double-sided or $190 single-sided. Are they suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The aluminum-frame faces are aluminum composite, printed full color or finished in exterior-rated film or metal, built for daily outdoor use. Like any portable sign, bring it in during strong winds.
What finishes can I choose?
Full-color print is included and is the least-cost option: we print your artwork edge to edge, photos and gradients included, and finish it matte or gloss. Applied finishes coat the face out in a film first (+$40), then add graphics; premium adds architectural and automotive films and brushed-metal looks, and specialty adds chrome, color-shift, exotic-skin, real copper, cedar and faux-stone. Nothing is painted.
Can I add raised, dimensional letters?
Not on an A-frame. A-frame graphics are flat: printed full color, or die-cut vinyl on a film finish. Raised dimensional letters are their own Brand 9 Signs product — see Dimensional sign letters, made for walls, monuments and storefronts.
How do they ship?
Signage has been our trade since 1986, and every sign ships nationwide. The folding frame and swappable face ship flat.
What is the edge-lit option?
The edge-lit upgrade adds a clear acrylic panel to each face with your name or logo engraved into it. LEDs along the edge of the acrylic light the engraved lettering, so it glows at night, and your printed design stays as printed around it. Both faces light at the same time from one 12V rechargeable lithium battery inside the frame, with an on/off switch and a charger included, so no outlet is needed. Bring the sign inside in rain.
