Flat Cut Letters & Logos

Acrylic is the most versatile: crisp painted letters in any of 48 standard colors, or solid white, black or clear, 1/8 to 1-1/2 inches thick, for indoors or outdoors. Aluminum is solid metal: brushed, painted, polished or anodized, 1/8 to 1 inch thick, and the most durable choice for a storefront. Stainless steel (304, or 316 for salt air) and Cor-Ten weathering steel, and solid brass, bronze and copper, give a real metal face that lasts outdoors. PVC is the budget choice for indoor walls. For a metal look indoors at a lower price, metal leaf or metal laminate on acrylic, and metal or acrylic faces on a foam core, come in brushed, polished and satin metal finishes. For small indoor lettering, such as room numbers, doors and display cases, mini aluminum, brass or bronze letters come from 1/2 inch to 3 inches tall.

Acrylic, aluminum, stainless steel, Cor-Ten, brass, bronze and copper letters can go outdoors on threaded studs. PVC, metal leaf, metal laminate, foam-core and mini letters are for indoor use only, and double-face tape is for indoor walls only, so the designer turns them off when you choose Outdoors. Anodized and polished aluminum and polished stainless, brass, bronze and copper always mount on studs.

Every order includes threaded studs on the back of each letter and a drilling pattern. Choose studs flush to the wall, or studs with 1/2 inch or 1 inch aluminum spacers so the letters stand off the wall and cast a shadow. Indoors you can choose double-face tape instead. With any stud mount we also send a full-size placement template with a level baseline, a centerline and a number for every letter.

Each letter is priced by its height, the material, the thickness and the finish. Lowercase letters cost 75% of a capital, and a comma, period, apostrophe or dash costs a third of a capital. Spaces are free. A logo is priced by the box around it. Solid white, black or clear acrylic is 20% less than painted; anodized aluminum adds 25%, polished 75% and polished anodized 100%. Polished stainless adds 50%, 316 stainless 30% (brushed) or 80% (polished), and Cor-Ten is 30% less; oxidized brass and bronze add 15%, patina 30% and polished 50%, and copper costs 45% more than brass. Laminated letters with a black or platinum grey edge are 15% less, and a charcoal foam edge 20% less, than a painted edge. Mini letters are priced by size and thickness; anodized minis add 60% and polished anodized 100%, and oxidized brass or bronze minis add 35% and polished 50%. Spacers add $0.63 (1/2 inch) or $0.95 (1 inch) per stud. Shipping is one line, set by the order total. Yes. Upload it as an SVG, PDF or PNG and the designer trims it to the artwork, shows it to scale on the wall and prices it by its width and height. A logo in one color is cut to its exact shape from the same material as your letters, in up to 30 separate pieces. A logo in two or more colors is cut from 1/8, 1/4 or 3/8 inch acrylic or aluminum with the full-color artwork printed on its face, up to 24 × 24 inches. Vector files (SVG or PDF) give the sharpest edges.

Choose from 21 fonts in the designer: block, condensed, serif and slab styles. Every letter is cut as its own piece, so strokes must be at least 1/8 inch wide (0.05 inch for mini letters); the designer measures the thinnest stroke of the font at your height and tells you if it is too thin, with the height that would work.

Mini aluminum letters are brushed, or anodized or polished anodized in the same seven colors (1/4 inch thick); mini brass and bronze are brushed, oxidized or polished (polished at 1/4 inch). Screen colors are close, not exact.

Yes. Set the letter height in the designer for each line, within each material’s range: acrylic and PVC 2 to 48 in (1/8 in acrylic to 30 in), aluminum and the other solid metals 2 to 30 in, and mini letters 0.5 to 3 in. A logo is sized by its width and height and priced by the box around it.
